IEPL dedicated lines typically use an enterprise-oriented transport path between the local ingress point and an overseas exit, then connect to the target region from that exit. Their value lies not in the city name itself, but in placing congestion-sensitive sections on a more controllable route. For sustained transfers during peak hours, uninterrupted remote meetings, or long downloads and uploads where mid-session fluctuations are undesirable, dedicated routes are usually worth comparing first.
These routes generally cost more to build and maintain, so they are better suited to stability-sensitive tasks rather than every type of access. For opening webpages, checking email, or making brief queries, a relay or direct connection to a nearby region may be sufficient. Treat a dedicated line as a tool for managing critical route instability, not as a label that decides every use case.

Relay Route
A relay route first connects to a suitable ingress point, then sends traffic to the destination through an intermediate node. Its advantage is the ability to choose local access and overseas exit separately: the ingress focuses on reachability from your current network, while the exit focuses on the target website, content region, or service location. For distant countries, a well-chosen relay can often provide a more consistent path than crossing several public networks directly.
More relay hops are not automatically better. Extra paths add routing complexity, and a mismatch between ingress, exit, and destination may perform worse than a shorter direct connection. Relays are therefore useful when you know the target region and want to compare different exits. For Streaming, AI Tools, and cross-border work, start with a relay in the target region, then use your actual usage hours to decide whether a dedicated line is needed.

Direct Connection
A direct connection reaches an overseas server from your current network without an additional relay, keeping the route structure simpler and using fewer intermediate resources. When the carrier’s international exit to the destination is performing well, direct access can feel natural and straightforward—especially for nearby regions, everyday webpages, brief queries, and tasks without strict exit-region requirements.
Direct connections depend more heavily on your carrier, location, and usage hours. The same city may perform differently across access networks, so do not generalize one connection experience to every environment. Home broadband, campus networks, and mobile networks may use different exits. If direct access becomes unstable during your usual hours, try a relay in the same region before switching to a more distant city.
